The Bureau of Labor Statistics released their latest Consumer Price Index, and the results aren’t pretty. On the whole, the price of goods across the board went up 1% compared to just last month, and food was hit harder than other categories—an increase in 1.2% compared to just thirty days ago.
Still, there were a handful of food items that actually saw their prices drop during the same time. It’s a bit of an eclectic group, but here are eight foods whose prices have actually gone down.
Ground beef. The price of ground beef went down by 0.7% compared to last month. It’s a nice little reprieve ahead of summer barbecues, and great news for anyone who’s been thinking about taking a stab at making a restaurant-quality level burger at home.

Chewing gum and candy. The price of chewing gum and candy went down by 0.2% compared to last month.
